California road trips

Ventura is a charming village located along US Route 101. Route 101 is known for being a beautiful, scenic road along the west coast, and Ventura is one of many beach towns situated on its path. Stop here for a cup of coffee or an ice cream cone and enjoy a stroll along the boardwalk. Or, pick up your lunch to go and spend the afternoon watching surfers from the beach.

Santa Barbara

Just a short ways north of Ventura, you’ll find Santa Barbara, a larger city known for its view of the Santa Ynez Mountains. Spend a day or two exploring its streets, its museums, its restaurants, or simply people watching from the Stearns Wharf pier.

Big Sur

To travel to Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park, you’ll have to take another iconic California road, the Pacific Coast Highway, also known as California State Route 1. This is one of the most scenic drives in the state, and Big Sur is one of the most scenic places, with everything from gorgeous bridges to stunning, rocky cliffs. You won’t regret making the drive out here, and you’re sure to find plenty of other irresistible stops along the way.
