Parents with young kids know how precious silence can be. GMC knows it as well, which is why they resorted to every trick in the book—and some new ones—to make the all-new 2015 Yukon as quiet as possible. Whether you’re driving home after a long day or taking the family out on a trip, you’ll be guaranteed a smooth, quiet ride for a more peaceful state of mind.
More than two dozen enhancements help reduce noise in the 2015 GMC Yukon, making it the quietest SUV in its class. Engineers, such as Michell Shippy, spent innumerable hours fine-tuning this noise reduction technology.
“Having two young kids that never sleep through the night, I have a strong desire to enjoy peace and quiet on my commute,” said Shippy. “That also helps give me a sharp ear to hone in on the fine details. We’ve made extensive improvements on the new Yukon and the interior quietness is a feature noticeable enough to grab your attention. The Yukon is truly a pleasure to drive.”
The new 2015 GMC Yukon has inlaid doors fitted into the body side openings to lower wind noise and variation and allow for triple-seals that not only help the doors achieve a tighter fit but also minimize gaps to shut out the wind, and the great updates don’t stop there. Special acoustically-treated materials and parts can be found everywhere, like the front door glass, windshield, baffles in the door headers, and water deflector.
