Tailgating Tips

At Simi Valley Buick GMC, there are plenty of things we love about the fall season, but one of our favorite fall pastimes is tailgating. It’s the perfect way to enjoy the versatility of your vehicle while gathering with friends and enjoying your favorite sport. Use these tailgating tips to make the most of your fall tailgating parties.

Be Prepared

Don’t wait until the last minute to put your tailgating festivities together. Make a list of everything you need to buy well beforehand, and then make a list of everything you can do to prepare before the big day. Pack what you can the night before so there’s less to worry about on game day.

Cook Ahead of Time

While you’re thinking of early preparation, keep in mind that there are plenty of foods that can be started ahead of time. Chop veggies, form burger patties, marinate meats, and make side dishes the night before. The less you have to do on the day of your tailgating party, the more you can enjoy your time with friends and family.

Stay Hydrated

Even if it’s a cool fall day, it’s important to stay hydrated—especially if you’re indulging in some adult beverages. You can freeze water bottles ahead of time and use them to keep your food items cold in the cooler. Be sure to have thawed water at the ready, too, so everyone can keep their water intake high and their spirits higher.
