An all-new 2018 Buick Regal sedan is set to hit the scene. Needless to say, the latest incarnation very much continues the brand’s trend of making well-designed and balanced vehicles that combine adventure and responsibility into a consistently exciting ride.
The 2018 Buick Regal Sportback sedan has been designed to replace the current Regal model. The idea is also that will also draw devotees of the Verano, which has also been slated for retirement. The design then is something that will appeal to fans of both the Verano and the outgoing Regal.
The incoming Regal is larger than its predecessor with a wheelbase that comes 3 inches longer, making for a roomier rear seat area. Speaking of the rear seats, they fold flat in the new model, which means more potential cargo space. The new Regal comes standard in front-wheel drive, but like its previous version, comes with an all-wheel drive option. Perhaps most exciting is the new Regal TourX version. It’s a five-door, all-wheel drive wagon that promises 73.5 cubic feet of cargo space.
The new Regal also has a new engine. The now standard 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder will be married to the efficient nine-speed automatic transmission. The result is considerably more horsepower and torque.
