One of the greatest New Year’s traditions here in Southern California is the Tournament of Roses parade. This year, the parade will be held on Monday, January 2nd. While the parade is amazing, you sometimes can’t quite appreciate the spectacular floats from afar. This year, consider getting a more up-close look at the Post Parade Showcase of Floats.
End to the end of the parade route on Sierra Madre Blvd. to take a tour of the floats. The showcase is open after the parade on January 2nd from 1pm to 4pm and Tuesday, January 3rd from 9am to 4pm. Senior citizens and disabled visitors can get an early viewing experience on the 3rd from 7am to 9am.
Admission costs $13 for all guests. Wear comfortable shoes as you will walk about two and a half miles to see all the floats. This whole experience will take around 2 hours, so be sure to dress for the weather!
The showcase is incredibly popular, so try to get there early in the day to beat some of the crowd. In addition, there is free parking and shuttles available. This is highly encouraged since parking near the showcase is extremely limited. The shuttles will operate from Pasadena City College and the Rose Bowl Stadium Lot B.
